Cold grocery stores in winter time
when pinto beans and corn bread is all a hard works week can buy
While the public radio station plays news no one pays attention to

No hiring signs populate the doors or windows,
And although I've got a bachelors degree in my hand there's no room on the payroll
It feels like this whole American dream is one big lie spoon-fed to us since we were kids by men in business suits and ties.

Aaron Hale is an upcoming musician currently recording his debut album "Wildflowers/Atom Bombs" with Matt Duckworth (drummer: The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and the White Dwarf) at Bell Labs in Norman, OK released spring 2017. Aaron is a multi-instrumentalist and classically trained singer/pianist w a degree in music from Oklahoma State University.
